My Little Pumpkin

Our family tradition continues this year by going to our local pumpkin patch.  Seeing all of those beautiful shades of orange, brown and yellow pumpkins makes me squeel with delight for two reasons.  First, autumn is here.  I just love autumn.  The leaves here in West Texas are just starting to turn colors.  The temps have dropped, and everyone has their fall decor out.  Love it.  The second reason is if you take all those colorful pumpkins of all sizes, add a cutely dressed 2 year old, your handy dandy camera and a very willing, patient, and kind husband to run chaos control, you are likely to come up with some cute pics for scrapbooking.  That's exactly what we did on Tuesday.  Here are some of our pics.

Let me say that she is at a hard stage to take pictures.  Every time we try to take one, she gives us an over-exagerated "cheese".  Then after about 4 or 5 pics she doesn't even look at the camera any more.  Hopefully she will grow out of it.  If she doesn't, I plan on being one of those moms who pulls out her big behemoth of a camera for every detail of her life to embarass the heck out of her.  Just kidding.  Enjoy this day that the Lord has made.

All thing crafty!

I have been in a mode lately. My husband would tell you that when I am in a mode I am so focused that on that subject that I am not distracted by anything.  Well lately I have been in a crafting mode.  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE all things craft.  I could blog hop all day looking at people's craftiness and get nothing done.  (I have been guilty of this lately.)  Now let me make a disclaimer here; I am not the creative type to usually come up with something myself, but I am a darn good copier.  I love seeing what other people create and try to re-create it myself.

My favorite craft is scrapbooking.  I am a huge scrapbooker.  I started when I was pregnant with my daughter.  I just wanted to capture and remember every moment of her life.  Well she is two and a half and I have kept up pretty well with the moments of her life.  I am on the 6th album of her short little life so far.  Yeah, I know, six.  But these are moments that I want to remember forever and ever.  For generations to come.  It's pretty easy to keep up with her life.  But she is only one child. I don't know if I will still be able to keep up with more kids, but I will try my hardest.  For our family scrapbook, I have been using Becky Higgins Project Life.  It's a picture a day concept that captures your life and family.  I love it.  I love all thing Becky Higgins.  It's easy to keep up with your year.  I have kept up all year so far.  It's October.  I have even impressed myself.

Here are a few of my latest creations in scrapbooking:

My newest crafty creations have been making hairbows.  I love have a little girl to dress up, and I love putting hairbows in her hair.  But have you seen the prices of hairbows these days.  Yikes.  There are some super cute ones out there but they run from $15-$30.  So I decided to search the internet on how to make your own hairbows and I ran into a super cute store called The Ribbon Retreat.  It's all things hairbows.  Here are a few pics of my very first creations in the hairbow world.

Cute huh?  I think so.  They are so fun to make.  I can only pray for God to give us another little girl so we can play dress up.

Here is a few pics of my craft room.  It's actually a craft/play room.  One half of the room is Alexis' toys and the other half is my toys.  It's kind of a mess right now, because like I said, I've been in a mode.  No time to clean up.

One last thing for today. Here is a pic of my next creation.

Can you guess what it's going to be?  I will let you know soon.  Thanks for crafting with me today.  Have a great one!

Hello October!

Wow! I cannot believe it is already October.  Where in the world did September go?  I absolutely love this time of year.  It's for sure my fave.  I love the changing leaves, the cooler weather, being able to wear a new wardrobe and the fact that it is football season.  I am a total sports girl.  Growing up I never missed watching a College Gameday on ESPN.  Nothing has changed.  I still love watching the game.

October also means that it is costume time for our fall festivals.  I just love trying to find the cutest costume for my two year old.  I know that I won't have a say in it for much longer, because she already tells me what she wants to wear each day. Mostly it consists of anything with Elmo or Barney on it, which is like two shirts.  So I have to talk her into wearing other things, which constists of a bribe, usually going to the park or getting to do bubbles, if she wears what I pick out.  I am convinced she will follow anyone who has bubbles.
Anyways back to the costume.  As usual, I started and finished at Gymboree. Why does their stuff have to be so darn cute.  This is my daughter's third fall festival and her third outfit from Gymboree.  Oh well.  I am not ashamed.  She has looked so cute in her costumes.  So why not stick with something that works and is cute.  This year she will be.........drumroll please.........a 50's poodle skirt girl!

 50s Sweetie
Super Cute.  I know.  Right.

By the way, I don't think she cares what she  is wearing at the festival.  All she cares about is that there are inflateable jumpers there.  It really is the day of the devil trying to get her off of those things when it's time to go home.

Well thats it for now.  Everyone have a great weekend.  Oh! One more thing! There are 31 days in October.  Join me in reading/meditating/praying over the book of Proverbs this month.  There are 31 books in Proverbs. Just do one a day and be completely blessed by dwelling on the Word of God.  You won't be disappointed.
